About CompaniesRanked — method and sources
CompaniesRanked ranks public companies by revenue, profit, assets and margins, and links every number to the filing it came from.
Where the numbers come from
Every figure on this site is read from a company's own filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, using the XBRL data the company itself tagged. Nothing is estimated, adjusted or licensed from a data vendor.
Each row in a company's history links to the specific filing it was read from. When a company restates a figure, the restatement is what you see.
What is and is not covered
Coverage is US-weighted: SEC filers plus foreign issuers that file forms 20-F or 40-F. Companies listed only on their home exchange are absent.
Foreign issuers that report under IFRS in their own currency are converted to US dollars at European Central Bank reference rates — the fiscal-year average for income items, the year-end rate for balance-sheet items. The original figure and the rate used are shown on the company's page.
There is no price data in this version, so there is no market capitalisation, P/E ratio or dividend yield.
Not every line is tagged by every filer. Where a company does not report gross profit or total liabilities separately, the site calculates it from two figures in the same filing and marks it as calculated.
What this site is not
CompaniesRanked publishes financial data for informational purposes only. Nothing here is investment advice, a recommendation, or an offer to buy or sell any security.
