Dividends paid is the cash that actually left the company for shareholders during the year, taken from the financing section of the cash-flow statement. It is a total in dollars, not a per-share rate or a yield — a yield needs a share price, which this site does not carry. Figures are for fiscal year 2025 and are read directly from each company's SEC filings; the source column on every row links to the document.

NextEra Energy (NEE) tops the list with $4.7B in dividends paid for fiscal 2025, ahead of Duke Energy ($3.2B) and Southern ($3.0B). The top 10 together report $26.9B in dividends paid; the gap between #1 and #10 is ×2.89. 79 companies in Utilities report dividends paid, 5.4% of the 1474-filer universe. The last place on the list, New Fortress Energy, comes in at $3.5M.
