Companies in the United Kingdom that buy back the most stock
Share buybacks are the cash a company spent during the year repurchasing its own stock, taken from the financing section of the cash-flow statement. Most companies buy back nothing at all — the line is absent rather than zero — so this ranking covers the minority that do. Figures are for fiscal year 2025 and are read directly from each company's SEC filings; the source column on every row links to the document.
Shell (SHEL) tops the list with $13.9B in share buybacks for fiscal 2025, ahead of Barclays ($7.4B) and Linde ($4.6B). The top 10 together report $40.4B in share buybacks; the gap between #1 and #10 is ×15.11. 32 companies in the United Kingdom report share buybacks, 1.7% of the 1853-filer universe. The last place on the list, Torm, comes in at $1.3M.
